The Texas Book Festival announced Wednesday its speakers for the annual First Edition Literary fundraising gala, including Jeff Lindsay, author of the popular “Dexter” book series; Meg Wolitzer, author of “The Interestings”; and James McBride, author of the new novel “The Good Lord Bird” and co-author with Spike Lee of the movie “Red Hook Summer.”
Computer scientist Ken Jennings, who holds the record for the longest winning streak in “Jeopardy!” history, will host the gala at the Four Seasons Hotel on Oct. 25. He is at the festival with his book “Because I Said So!: The Truth Behind the Myths, Tales, and Warnings Every Generation Passes Down to Its Kids.”
