The Elroy Community Library is full of reminders of how closely this rural area is connected with Circuit of the Americas, which hosted its inaugural Formula One race half a year ago.
A recent bonanza in sales tax revenue from the track has made that connection even more apparent, paying for new computers, new carpet, a freshly-paved parking lot and other upgrades. In the past year, the district has collected $881,000 in sales tax, compared to $294,000 over a similar period in 2011 and 2012, before the track opened up.
