A federal judge on Monday blocked Texas from enforcing a key new abortion regulation, allowing all 32 abortion clinics in the state to remain open when other aspects of the law take effect Tuesday.
U.S. District Judge Lee Yeakel ruled that a provision requiring abortion doctors to gain admitting privileges at a nearby hospital unconstitutionally limited women’s access to abortion while providing no discernible health or safety benefits for patients.
