Opening statements and testimony began Tuesday in the capital murder trial of Willie Jenkins, charged with killing Sheryl Ann Norris, a 20-year-old secretary who was raped, strangled and drowned in her bathtub when she went home for lunch one afternoon in the fall of 1975.
“By all accounts, Sheryl had everything going for her until that day,” said Assistant Attorney General Lisa Tanner.
