A former assistant U.S. attorney has been named to investigate a complaint that Gov. Rick Perry violated state laws when he vowed to veto state funding for Travis County’s Public Integrity Unit unless District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg resigned.
Senior District Judge Robert “Bert” Richardson of San Antonio asked Michael McCrum on Monday to look into the complaint filed by the watchdog group Texans for Public Justice.
