Gabrielle Nestande was released from jail Friday morning after serving a six-month sentence for criminally negligent homicide in the hit-and-run death of Courtney Griffin in May 2011.
She walked out of the Del Valle Correctional Complex at 8:50 a.m., accompanied by her father and her boyfriend, William Marchbanks. They were trailed by television cameras and reporters and she didn’t answer questions, at one point removing her coat and shielding her face with it. It was raining and they jogged to a black Chevrolet Tahoe, in which a driver was waiting. The vehicle immediately drove away.
