Days after her daughter disappeared, Carmen Belmarez put up posters around the Southeast Austin neighborhood Margaret Ann Robles was known to frequent, hoping to find answers, the mother testified Friday.
With one of those long display boards in hand, a large photo of Robles in the center, she came across her daughter’s boyfriend, Eduardo Mora-Hernandez, on a street corner, she told jurors. But in the times she confronted him, he denied killing Robles, and he would even take down the signs she posted near his home, Belmarez said, sobbing and holding up a placard.
