The Legislature’s special session might be limited to redistricting, but that hasn’t stopped lawmakers from filing dozens of bills on a variety of unrelated topics ranging from guns to abortion.
House members and senators filed more than 60 bills and resolutions in the special session as of Monday. Several deal with proposed new boundaries for the Texas House and Congress, but most were filed just in case Gov. Rick Perry allows more subjects to be considered in the current 30-day special session.
