Caught on camera: Woman dumps neighbor's dog in trash bin

A woman in Texas was caught on a security camera snatching her neighbor's dog and dumping it into a trash bin.

The woman, believed to be in her 80s, put a recycling bin on top of the trash bin to make sure the dog couldn't get out. The dog was left in the bin for an hour or two until the woman removed the dog, after realizing that her actions had been caught on camera, according to KHOU.

The dog's owner, who provided only her first name, Amanda, to KHOU, said her family and the neighbor have had disputes over fencing and dogs for years. She never thought the woman would dump her dog into the trash.

The 7-pound-dog, Bentley, was not injured.

The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office declined to press charges against the woman. Police said they believe that the woman has mental issues, and they are working to get her help.
