Six displaced after fire burns East Austin home Sunday

Firefighters Sunday night battled a blaze at a East Austin boarding house that left six people displaced.

The fire was reported shortly before 10 p.m. at a three-story home in the 5600 block of Manor Road, the Austin Fire Department said. By 10:45 p.m., the bulk of the fire had been extinguished but the fire department said battling the blaze was difficult due to hoarding conditions inside the home.

At least six residents have been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross, officials said. No one was injured in the blaze, according to authorities.

Officials have not determined the cause of the blaze.
