The Lago Vista school district will operate on a two-hour delay on Wednesday due to concerns of icy roads.

The schedules will run as follows:

Leander school district offices and schools will also open later than planned Wednesday, but this only applies to teachers and staff. Students don’t return to school till Thursday.

The Leander school district will begin operations at 10 a.m.

The Austin school district, meanwhile, is planning to operate on a normal schedule.

At 9:45 p.m., the school district sent out a message that “officials have been in communication with (the National Weather Service) to understand that no precipitation is forecasted.”

The University of Texas also put out a statement that it will open normally Wednesday.

“However, weather forecasts indicate that the outlying areas in the region may experience freezing rain,” UT officials wrote in a statement. “We ask that all of you carefully evaluate your own personal situation. If conditions along your route are not safe for you to travel, please stay home. ... The University of Texas at Austin is coordinating closely with local and state public safety agencies as well as city, county and school district officials and will monitor the weather overnight.”
