Kyle police ID pedestrian struck, killed on I-35 late Thursday


A pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle on Interstate 35 in Kyle late Thursday has been identified by authorities as 22-year-old Jonathan Reyes.

No one else was injured, Kyle police said.

The incident happened around 9:15 p.m. near the Center Street/FM 150 exit on I-35.

Hays County Pct. 2 Justice of the Peace Beth Smith has ordered an autopsy on Reyes.

All southbound lanes of I-35 in Kyle had been closed in the area as police investigated the scene Thursday night, but the roadway was reopened around 11:30 p.m.
