Three arrested in Austin, Cedar Park in connection to ATM robberies across state

Authorities Wednesday arrested three people in Austin and Cedar Park who are accused of engaging in ATM thefts and robberies throughout the state, Austin police said.

A team of Austin and Houston police arrested one of the suspects after stopping a vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. 183 near MoPac Boulevard, police said.

The two other suspects were arrested in Cedar Park, Austin police said.

One of the suspects is about 17 years old and the two others are believed to be in their 20s, officials said.

Austin police said those arrested will be charged with conspiracy to commit theft and be booked into the Williamson County Jail.

It is unclear why Houston police participated in the arrests. Austin police declined to share further details of the investigation.
