Police seek armed robber who assaulted clerk, officials say


Austin police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man they say assaulted a clerk with a handgun Saturday and robbed a Southeast Austin gas station convenience store.

Officers responded to the reported robbery at a Chevron gas station around 9:55 p.m. on East Ben White Boulevard, just east of Interstate 35, police said.

Police were told a man entered the store and assaulted the clerk with a handgun before stealing an undisclosed amount of cash. The man was last seen on Catalina Drive, getting into a white 2000s-model Ford Crown Victoria with black wheels, police said. 

The clerk received minor injuries from the attack, police said.

Police are asking for Anyone who can identify this man is eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 if the tip is the first one to lead to his arrest. Call Crime Stoppers at  512-472-8477 to leave an anonymous tip.
