Woman shot in Southeast Austin, EMS officials say


A woman was shot in Southeast Austin on Thursday evening, Austin-Travis County EMS officials said.

Her gunshot wound is not expected to be life-threatening, but her injuries are serious, EMS officials said. She is estimated to be in her 20s.

Medics responded at 5:33 p.m. to the 2000 block of Burton Drive and drove her to Dell Seton Medical Center.

Austin police didn’t have a suspect in custody as of 6:30 p.m., but investigators said the woman knows the person who shot her.
