Authorities on Monday continue to investigate a situation involving threating statements against Vandegrift High School.
Over the weekend, students and parents reported to the school district a social media posting that displayed a student in possession of weapons, according to a district letter. While district officials said authorities concluded there was no credible threat to the school, staff or students, “statements of a threatening nature” in reference to the school were made again Monday morning.
Principal Charlie Little in a second letter to Vandegrift families said the district continues to work with authorities, but assured parents that the school day was running normally.
“Law enforcement authorities continue their investigation of this matter, and be assured that as school administrators we always follow the professional guidance of law enforcement on these issues,” Little said. “The safety of students and staff is always our number one priority.”
