Let’s call it “The Amazing Foot Race.”
I recently convinced the Fish family of Pflugerville (say that five times fast!) to let me follow them on an Urban Adventure Quest in downtown Austin. The anytime, 2-mile scavenger hunt begins near the Capitol grounds, heads down Congress Avenue and Sixth Street before doubling back west and southward to conclude on the north shore of Lady Bird Lake. The whole shebang takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours to complete.

Urban Adventure Quest
The quest is an interactive, cellphone-driven activity that guides participants through the city on foot to find locations and complete puzzle-based challenges. Once the $49 fee is paid, the quest can begin at any time.
Adventurers should bring a fully-charged smartphone, comfortable walking shoes, water, snacks and a pencil and notepad. A city map or second cellphone can be handy in an unfamiliar location.
