Clad in jeans and a T-shirt, Converse, and her hair messily pulled back from dangers’ way, 34-year-old Morgan Bogart begins to rotate her blowpipe, an extension of her wrists. Her glass art follows the circular rhythm before emerging from the depths of the orange flames.
It’s a dreary and surprisingly chilly Wednesday morning in April, but the weather isn’t enough to compete with the heat radiating from Morgan’s studio space as the beads of sweat begin to form across Bogart’s forehead. She says that her shop on average runs close to 20 degrees warmer inside than the surrounding environment, but she can take it.
