For fitness, health and well-being, Nia has forever changed my body and my life. I took my first Nia Technique class to relieve the stresses of my life. I was ready to get moving. The class offered a chance to dance without shoes. Score!
Lively and playful, the classes were medicine for my body and my soul. They left me glistening with sweat and beaming from ear to ear.
To ensure I made it to class on a regular basis, I became the teacher. This strategy has worked well for me. All of my joints work better than they used to, and the cardiovascular conditioning component of Nia has increased my endurance. I’m not only in better physical shape today, but am mentally more alert and emotionally more flexible than ever before.
For an introvert, low on self-confidence, teaching my first class eight years ago was a feat of enormous proportion. Today, students describe me as a teacher who guides with wit, love and precision. During the last 10 years it’s become evident to me the Nia Technique is essential to my well-being.
