It is about 8:15 in the morning on a Saturday. I am in bed, maybe reading, maybe checking email. Though my wife and I are resisting it, the day has more or less started, with my 8-year-old daughter bounding into our room, jumping into our bed and flipping on the TV. My 5-year-old, Simon, comes into the room. I know exactly what is coming next, and I am dreading it.
“Dad,” he says. “Can we play Mario?”
