Austin designer has celebrity fans
When guests of the Daytime Emmy Awards last summer opened one of their gift bags, jewelry from local designer Theresa Mink was one of the surprises included in the luxurious bag of treats. Her handmade jewelry line, Classic Designs by Theresa Mink, has gained popularity on Etsy.com. Mink’s designs have also caught the attention of celebrities and television personalities such as Courtney Love and Bobbie Thomas, style editor for NBC’s Today show.
Thomas purchased a pair of letter stud earrings –a “B” and “T” for her initials, and received so many compliments that she decided to feature a selection of Mink’s personalized jewelry in a Today show segment. Mink’s sideways cross necklaces are a favorite among shoppers. Mink’s jewelry, which features many 14K gold and diamond items, ranges between $40-$1,448.
Mink’s Etsy shop, www.classicdesigns.etsy.com, also features other personalized jewelry such as initial necklaces and gold name plate necklaces. Mink began making jewelry in 2005 and opened her Etsy shop in 2007.
