Early during Formula One weekend, I ran into City Council Member Chris Riley on West Sixth Street. I interrupted what was probably a heady exchange with a constituent about a wonky subject to thank him for a wonderful F1 weekend.
Others might have given thanks to Circuit of the Americas investors such as Bobby Epstein, Red McCombs or John Paul DeJoria. They might have blessed — or cursed — Gov. Rick Perry or Comptroller Susan Combs for the subsidies that lured the U.S. Grand Prix to the city.
