“Amateurs, dabblers, experimenters of all kinds,” is how KUTX reporter/producer Delaney Hall describes the subjects of the Austin Music Map.
Hall and others behind the project, a blend of online media and radio stories focusing on locations around Austin, celebrate its first year on Saturday with MapJam, a day-long festival with performances at different venues around town. “The idea is to kind of let them experience the Music Map live and in 3D,” Hall says. “From a brewery to a trailer park plant company, to known venues like the Victory Grill.”
