A few years ago, Brian Eno gave a radio interview for the series “This I Believe,” in which the British pop and ambient composer explained that the thing he believed in was getting together with a group of people, to sing.
So, once a week he invites 15 friends to come into his home and sing a-capella versions of American spirituals and Motown favorites. He believed, he said, that coming together as a group and working at the same challenging activity was “the key to a long life.”
