Bill Kirchen cut his latest album, “Seeds and Stems,” in London last year while he and his band were on tour. Doing so, he said over the phone from D.C. recently, helped him achieve a bit of live energy in the studio, something he has found difficult in the past.
“There is nothing like going up on stage and trying not to suck,” Kirchen said. “That’s the recipe for a tight band.”
