Erwin Center director John Graham ranks Paul McCartney’s shows this week among other big events the venue has hosted, including a sitting president (Bill Clinton), the NCAA women’s basketball Final Four and the Dalai Lama.
“McCartney fits into that in the concert world, mainly because he’s never been to Austin,” Graham said from his office last week. “We’ve had a lot of artists play here — Madonna, the Who, the whole gamut, but we’ve never been able to get McCartney.”
