On Thursday night, along with a tribute to Lloyd Maines that included the Dixie Chicks, the Court Yard Hounds, Joe Ely, and more, came a big announcement for the long-running “Austin City Limits” series: They’re creating a hall of fame.
KLRU will unveil the “ACL” hall of fame next year as part of a celebration of the show’s 40th season, which also will include several yet-to-be-announced events. KLRU CEO Bill Stotesbery said Friday that the show is in talks with ACL Live about a physical hall of fame in the theater’s Keller Pfluger Gallery on the mezzanine level.
