Day of the Dead has deep roots in Austin, with local enthusiasm for the holiday growing each year. On Saturday, our festival-loving city debuts a new celebration that honors departed loved ones with music, art and food.
The inaugural Día de los Muertos Festival at Fiesta Gardens, which benefits Easter Seals of Central Texas, brings music from rock to Tejano to two stages with Little Joe y La Familia headlining. There will also be a birthday bash for the veteran musician, who turns 73.
