To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination, the American-Statesman staff has been writing about the dozens of new books that focus on the tragic day in Dallas.
The books include a cultural history of Dallas from Central Texas writers Bill Minutaglio and Steven L. Davis; a behind-the-scenes look at Kennedy’s final hours by Austin’s Julian Read, as well as an oral history of doctors who attended the fatally wounded president by Austin’s Allen Childs.
