Former Austin developer Andy Sarwal is behind bars after reporting Tuesday to a South Texas correctional facility to serve a 57-month federal sentence for bank fraud.
Sarwal was sentenced to the nearly five-year term in April after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud in connection with a loan he obtained to build an eight-story office building at the former Concordia University site just north of downtown.
