Austin fast-food workers are set to join their counterparts in as many as 50 U.S. cities Thursday in walking off the job to protest wages they say are so low it’s nearly impossible to make ends meet.
The workers – primarily from the Jack in the Box, Long John Silver’s and Wendy’s chains – plan to march along Guadalupe Street, near the University of Texas campus, at noon, calling for their wages to be increased to $15 per hour.
