Rising sales throughout most of Texas’ service-sector industries appeared to fuel a surge in hiring during February, according to a monthly survey released Tuesday by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
The state revenue index, a key measure of activity in Texas’ service-providing industries, jumped to 14.2 in February from 8.4 the prior month, the Texas Service Sector Outlook Survey showed. The increase suggested an accelerating pace of sales growth for the month.
