TRAFFIC ALERT: DPS trooper injured in wrong-way crash in Williamson Co.; Texas 195 closed


A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper was injured while on duty in a crash on Texas 195 in Williamson County on Friday afternoon.

According to the Williamson County sheriff’s office, an elderly man was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe the wrong way in the 5600 block of the highway when he slammed into the trooper in a marked patrol vehicle around 12:20 p.m.

The driver of the Tahoe was taken to a hospital after the crash, but his condition was not immediately available. The trooper only received minor injuries, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.

Authorities have shut the roadway down near Ronald Reagan Boulevard, and expect the closure until around 3:30 p.m.
