Affidavit: Woman accused of sneaking drugs into jail in her vagina


Authorities have filed third-degree felony charges against a woman accused of sneaking drugs into the Travis County Jail inside her vagina.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Erika Carter, 24, was inside a cell at the facility on Sunday when an officer noticed that she smelled like marijuana. The officer spoke to another guard who dealt with Carter when she arrived the previous day and confirmed that she smelled like marijuana then as well.

While preparing to conduct a search of the inmate, a detention officer asked whether Carter had anything illegal on her. She told them that she did have marijuana and let them know where it was. Investigators conducting the search confiscated a total of 2.5 grams of a green, leafy substance wrapped in toilet paper and clear plastic.

Carter was booked on a charge of having prohibited substances and items in a correctional facility.
