Where to celebrate Galentine’s Day in Austin

What’s Galentine’s Day, you ask?

It takes place every Feb. 13, and it’s all about celebrating your ladyfriends.

“Ladies celebrating ladies,” according to Leslie Knope of “Parks and Recreation,” the creator of the esteemed holiday. The “Galentine’s Day” episode of the hit TV show aired in 2010, and with every passing year, the unofficial holiday has become more of an official one.

There are a slew of Galentine’s Day-themed events in Austin for you to “leave [your] husbands and boyfriends at home and kick it breakfast style.”

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8

Galentine’s Lingerie Party at Bloomers and Frocks. It’s not just lingerie -- it’s vintage lingerie. We’re talking 1930s silks, 1970s soap opera nightgowns, gloves, fur and pinup-inspired looks.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9

Cake + Cocktails: A Galentine’s Party at Revelry. Enjoy cocktails, wine tastings, baked goods, a braid and nail art bar, art installations, a love-themed photobooth and handcrafted Valentine’s cards. A portion of the proceeds will benefit BossBabes ATX.

Galentine's Day Calligraphy and Card-Making Workshop at Lucky Lab. Get instructions on calligraphy and watercolor to make your own Valentine’s Day cards, and enjoy “glitter lattes” and a Valentine’s pastry bar.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10

Galentine’s Day party at Adelante. Get a mini makeover, lash applications and manicures while crafting your own BFF necklaces with Nina Berenato, snacking on Tiny Pies and drinking Sway Rosé.

Celebrate Galentine’s with BumbleBFF at Sabia. Start off the day with a yoga stretch with Outdoor Voices then treat yourself to a day of pampering with makeup and hair touch-ups, a DIY facial mask bar, snacks, champagne, coffee, giveaways and raffle prizes.

Galentine’s Day Brunch at Stella San Jac. Celebrate with half-priced bottles of bubbles with mixed berries and cardboard cutouts of “hunky Hollywood men to serve as your arm candy and pose for photos with you.” (Galentine’s Day is supposed to be about ladies celebrating ladies, but y’know, sure.)

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 12

Galentine’s Day Workout at Crux Climbing Center. Get active with your girls with a two-hour event at the bouldering gym followed by snacks and drinks, led by all the gym’s female coaches.

A Wanderful Galentine’s Day at CRAFT. Make your own Valentine’s Day cards and BYOB.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 13

Galentine’s Day Brunch at Stella San Jac. If you missed it the first day, here’s your shot.

Galentine’s Day at Juliet Italian Kitchen. If half-priced wines all day doesn’t sound like the perfect way to celebrate Galentine’s Day, then we don’t know what does.

Galentine’s Day with AMA, The Sophies, Bitter Heart Society and more at Hotel Vegas. Do you and your gal pals love live music? Hotel Vegas has a local lineup for you (and what better time of year to see a band named Bitter Heart Society?).

Galentine’s Day at Zilker Brewing Company. Enjoy a pop-up trunk show, a special cask tapping and a raffle benefiting SafePlace.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14

Galentine’s Day at Icenhauer’s. Everything Galentine’s Day needs: cocktails named after Ann Perkins and Leslie Knope. And Kendra Scott is giving away free jewelry to the first 30 people who show up.
