Still recovering from flu, Willie Nelson cancels February shows

At 84 years old, there’s no doubt Willie Nelson would rather spend a stretch of February in Florida — but his doctor has other plans.

Nelson cancelled or postponed eight February tour dates, including a half-dozen in the Sunshine State, on Monday after he was instructed to spend a “few extra weeks to recover completely from the flu,” a news release said.

The release said Nelson “is up and about and looks as healthy as ever but his doctor has determined that his voice needs more time to recuperate.”

Nelson will resume his never-ending tour in early March in South Carolina and just added four Midwest dates in April.

“I will see you all down the road,” Nelson said.

Nelson returns to Central Texas on April 20 for a two-night stand at Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels alongside Robert Earl Keen.
