Get ready, Muggles: The Harry Potter movies are coming to HBO


Get your HBO accounts ready (or alert the friends and family members whose logins you use to watch “Game of Thrones”) -- soon, you’ll be able to watch all eight “Harry Potter” movies.

Previously, HBO only had the rights to stream “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” as well as “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” But now, the entire franchise will be available on all HBO platforms starting Jan. 1, which means, yes, you can stream them anytime you want on HBO Go and HBO Now.

HBO is kicking off its Harry Potter marathon (good riddance to Freeform’s Harry Potter weekends) at 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 1 and ending in the early morning of Jan. 2. Then it starts all over again the night of Jan. 2, with one film airing each night at 8 p.m.
