State of Texas settlements and judgements: About this collection
Published March 14, 2015
The state of Texas has been incorrectly obscuring information about hundreds of legal settlements and court judgments worth millions of dollars, an American-Statesman review of legal records from a dozen state agencies shows.
The Office of Attorney General must report at least monthly to the Legislative Budget Board details of every legal settlement and judgment greater than $5,000 paid by state government. Below are all of the reports from the past decade, including settlements agencies deemed confidential. The document names reflect the day they were received by the Attorney General and can contain details from multiple cases. However, readers can search and find specific court settlement details by keyword, if the searcher knows who received the payment.
